About this event
This trail running competition is set in the rich primeval forest at the northern foot of Mount Fuji and around scenic Lake Shoji and Lake Motosu. Two divisions are offered: a Long Course (approx. 22 km) and a Short Course (approx. 13.8 km), with a cumulative elevation gain of 1,055 m for the Long Course and 233 m for the Short Course. Eligibility is 16 years and older for the Long Course and 12 years and older for the Short Course. Entry fees are 6,500 yen for the Long Course and 5,500 yen for the Short Course (tax included). Capacity is 450 participants for the Long Course and 250 for the Short Course. The venue is the Former Shoji Elementary School, with parking for approximately 200 cars available (no reservation required, first-come, first-served). Participants will receive original merchandise, and top finishers will be awarded. As a participant service, venison keema curry will be served, and during the previous day's check-in, a trail run talk show, a raffle, and a "Welcome Evening" offering local wine and other treats are scheduled. The event begins with check-in and events on Saturday, October 31, followed on Sunday, November 1 by the opening ceremony and starts for both courses, concluding the trail run in the afternoon. The Long Course starts at 8:00, while the Short Course Wave 1 starts at 9:00 and Wave 2 at 9:10. Checkpoints (cut-off points) are set along the route: the 1st Long checkpoint is at Neko Pass at 10:30, the 2nd checkpoint is before Prefectural Route 71 at 12:30, and the 1st Short checkpoint is also set before Prefectural Route 71. The awards ceremony will be held from 12:30.
