Set in the Daimon Shopping Street of Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, 'HAPPY HALLOWEEN in Shiojiri' is a major autumn event celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Starting small in 1997, this event has been loved by citizens and has grown into a leading event attracting over 10,000 people. Valuing the perspective of being an event for children, it is characterized by a cycle where connections between people are forged through fun. The executive committee chair expressed a desire for everyone to be involved and prepare with passion, and the staff's enthusiasm enlivens the event. This year's event will take place on October 31. As commemorative activities, a costume contest and a rock-paper-scissors tournament game will be held. In the main attraction, 'Trick or Treat', costumed participants visit shops in the shopping street to receive sweets. Prior registration is required for this attraction, limited to the first 2,000 people, with a participation fee of 500 yen. In preparation for the event, pumpkin harvesting for lanterns will also take place, and they will be crafted into lanterns on the day to heighten the atmosphere. Access to the venue is a 3-minute walk from Shiojiri Station, or about a 5-minute drive from Shiojiri IC. As the street will be a pedestrian zone on the day, the use of public transportation is recommended.
