About this event

Located in Kiso Town, Nagano Prefecture, the autumn foliage of Kaida Highlands is a scenic spot where the entire plateau is beautifully colored in fall. In particular, the view of the sacred Mt. Ontake from Jizo Pass connecting Kiso-Fukushima to the highlands, and from Kuzo Pass about 15 minutes by car after entering the highlands, is wonderful, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery woven by autumn leaves. The autumn colors along the pass roads and the view of Mt. Ontake with autumn leaves from the observation deck are mostly composed of Japanese larch, creating an attractive contrast. In addition, at Kiso Horse Village, visitors can enjoy the bright red autumn leaves of blueberries together with Mt. Ontake. The usual peak season is from late October to early November, with Japanese larch, white birch, and blueberries turning color. Admission is free.
