Marking its third year at Hakuba Goryu, 'Hakuba Organic Market' offers a special time to choose food and items gentle on the mind and body while conversing directly with producers. The venue is lined with seasonal fresh vegetables, carefully crafted processed goods, freshly brewed fragrant coffee, and delicious bread and baked goods, allowing visitors to chat with vendors while taking their time picking out favorite items. Green lawns, colorful tents, and rich food displays brighten the venue set against the expansive nature of Hakuba. This year, 'Hakariuri Marche' (Weigh-and-Pay Market) hosted by the 'Northern Alps Organic Project' joins for the first time, selling baked goods made with quality ingredients, pesticide-free whole wheat, herbal teas, and biodegradable dishwashing detergent in a plastic packaging-free style. Bringing your own shopping bag, cup, and containers lets you enjoy the market in an even more eco-friendly way. In addition, as a special event, a live kitchen session titled 'How to Eat Today's Vegetables?' taught by a greengrocer's proprietress is scheduled to be held. On the day of the market, there are special perks including a 50% discount on round-trip gondola tickets for Nagano Prefecture residents, as well as local resident discounts for people living in designated areas. 'Hakuba Goryu Alpine Botanical Garden' is also open on the day of the event, allowing you to spend a fulfilling day up on the mountain.
