About this event
A quiet mountain temple with a striking contrast between its dignified buildings and vivid autumn foliage, Yokokuji is one of the premier autumn foliage spots in Mino alongside Tanigumi. Japanese maples (momiji and kaede) are planted throughout the temple grounds, offering a remarkably beautiful view with the contrast of the red Io Bridge, the temple's white walls, and the autumn leaves. The peak viewing season is usually from mid-November to late November, and the foliage consists of Japanese maple trees. Scenic highlights include the vicinity of Io Bridge and the area from Ruri Bridge to the Sanmon gate. Light-up illumination is currently undecided. The event typically attracts around 65,000 visitors during the period.
