About this event

Held in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the 'Ito Onsen Yume Fireworks Part 7 Hashi Matsuri Fireworks Display (Tezutsu Fireworks)' is a traditional event to memorialize and give thanks to chopsticks used at inns and homes. A chopstick memorial tower made of stacked chopsticks is lit on fire to express gratitude toward chopsticks. In this eco-conscious, locally rooted event, visitors can enjoy not only launched fireworks but also rare hand-held tezutsu fireworks. From the Ito Coast, approximately 1,500 fireworks will be launched over 30 minutes, spreading powerful scenes unique to an ocean fireworks festival, such as diagonally launched starmine fireworks. Highlights also include stage events such as taiko drumming performances, as well as stalls around Fuji no Hiroba. In particular, the heroic tezutsu fireworks, which shoot flames upward while being held by hand, can be viewed up close, and the sight of around 40 tezutsu fireworks is truly breathtaking.
