About this event
Marking the end of summer in Gotemba City, the "Gotemba Waraji Memorial Festival Grand Finale" will be held. In Gotemba City, long known as a base for Fuji worship and a production area for waraji (straw sandals), gratitude is expressed for the safe conclusion of the Mt. Fuji climbing season by burning and memorializing the symbolic 3-meter-long giant straw sandal. On the day, a wide range of stage events will unfold, including Fugaku Taiko performances, dance, a stage show by Tomato Niisan Chasu, and a mini live show by Tomohiro Furuya. Festival stalls will also line the venue, enlivening the festival even further. A special stage show by star Akira Nishikino will be held from 18:10, and tezutsu hand-held fireworks will be dedicated from 19:50, leading into a magnificent finale. Admission is free.
