Minami-Izu Shihodake Bamboo Shoot Harvesting 2026

About this event

This is a hands-on harvesting event for rare bamboo shoots with a square cross-section that are in season in autumn. They can be harvested easily by simply snapping them by hand, and their great taste—suitable for a wide range of dishes such as simmered dishes, grilled dishes, and soups—is also part of their appeal. Advance reservation is required to participate. The event will be held at Ichijo Takenoko Village from 9:00 to 16:00. The venue can be accessed via National Route 414 from Tomei Numazu IC for about 84 km, or in about 20 minutes from Izukyu-Shimoda Station.
