For guitarists and bassists, "Oku-Oi Overdrive 2026" returns this year, offering an experience you can only get in Kawanehon Town. The venue is Roadside Station Oku-Oi Otoginosato. At the event, you can enjoy talk sessions about the guitars, gear, and playing techniques favored by top-tier active musicians, alongside powerful, loud live performances outdoors. Highlights include the Signature Sessions featuring guitarist Shinji Wajima (Ningen Isu) on Sunday, October 18, and bassist Wakazaemon on Sunday, October 25. Additionally, a solo exhibition by illustrator "Seikatsu" on the theme of guitars and girls will be held, featuring original merchandise for sale. In the outdoor full-stack amp test-play experience—the signature attraction of Oku-Oi Overdrive—participants can play their own instruments at full volume. Other scheduled activities include "Guitar Kakuzuke-o" (Guitar Rating King), "Teion-ichi Budokai" (Paper Sumo Bass Tournament), "Guitarway To Heaven," a test-play and sales booth by the Shizuoka-born effects pedal brand "DISPEDALS," and the "Shizuoka Raga Rock Study Group" where visitors can experience "Raga Rock," a fusion of Indian music and rock. Furthermore, an effects pedal contest focusing on "spatial effects" such as delay and reverb is being held, with applications open for participants. Original merchandise, including T-shirts and stickers featuring Seikatsu's main visual, DISPEDALS T-shirts, and items featuring newly drawn illustrations by Wakaba Ran, are prepared, with advance reservations also being accepted.
