Japanese name:宵の明治村
📅 Sat, Aug 8, 2026 - Sun, Aug 30, 2026
About this event
Held at the Museum Meiji-mura in Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture, "Evening at Meiji-mura" extends opening hours to provide a special nighttime experience. During the period, visitors can enjoy the "Takeakari no Michi" walkway illuminated by bamboo lanterns and the "Natsu Matsuri" interactive projection mapping illuminating historical buildings. In particular, the collaboration between the lit-up architectural structures and vibrant fireworks launched up close is breathtaking. On the outdoor stage, a variety of rotating daily stage performances take place, including jazz live shows, performances by Meiji-mura's official hospitality group "Meiji Ijintai," and dynamic Eisa dance performances. In addition, hands-on workshops such as making original lampshades, decorating uchiwa fans, and crafting senko-hanabi sparklers are held to brighten summer night memories. Photo spots adorned with goldfish lanterns and Japanese paper umbrella art also appear for photo opportunities. At the "Meiji Matsuri Hiroba," offering the feel of a traditional festival fair, nostalgic games such as target shooting and ring toss are available. Chilled treats and shaved ice perfect for summer are sold in the village, making this an event where you can savor summer nights with all five senses.
