Owariasahi City Memorial Ceremony for the War Dead

About this event

To mourn those who lost their lives in the last war and pray for permanent peace, the FY2026 (Reiwa 8) Owariasahi City Memorial Ceremony for the War Dead will be held. Continuing from last fiscal year, 'Essays on War and Peace' were invited from elementary and junior high school students, and the authors of outstanding works will be commended at the ceremony and their essays read aloud. Anyone can attend the ceremony, which is scheduled to include the performance of the national anthem, an address by the Mayor of Owariasahi, a moment of silence, memorial addresses, floral offerings, and the commendation and reading of the outstanding essays. No advance registration is required, and you can come directly to the venue.
