The "2026 Aichi Prefecture Folk Performing Arts Festival - Tahara City Convention" will be held, bringing together diverse folk performing arts handed down in Aichi Prefecture. Aiming to deepen prefectural residents' understanding and appreciation of traditional culture including folk performing arts, this event also contributes to the preservation and transmission of intangible folk cultural properties. On the day, distinctive regional folk performing arts will be presented, such as the "Sumiyoshi / Hakurakuten" mechanical puppet (karakuri) performance from the Inuyama Festival float event, Miko Daiko drumming by the Sunari Fife and Drum Preservation Society, Nishiyama Manzai, Large and Small Lion Dance, Bonote (martial dance with wooden staves), and Toshima Dai Nembutsu Dance. These performances richly reflect local history and culture, offering deep inspiration and learning to spectators. It will be a valuable opportunity to experience traditional techniques and spirit.
