Japanese name:彦根城 紅葉見ごろ
📅 Wed, Nov 11, 2026 - Mon, Nov 30, 2026
About this event
Autumn foliage viewing gracing the National Treasure Hikone Castle. Standing on the shores of the lake, the entire castle area where moats remain in their complete form is dyed in autumn colors. Centered on Japanese maples (Irohamomiji), visitors can also enjoy diverse trees such as rowan (Nanakamado) and colorful Katsura. The typical peak viewing season is from late November to early December, and at Genkyu-en Garden in particular, the autumn leaves reflected in the pond display extraordinary beauty. Night viewing is also held in certain years, allowing visitors to enjoy magical nighttime scenery of the autumn leaves.
