About this event
Held under the theme of 'A festival cherishing the bond between Tango people and cats,' 'Komaneko Festival 2026' will take place throughout downtown Mineyama-cho and at Kotohira Shrine in Kyotango City, Kyoto Prefecture. Through 'Komaneko' guardian cats rooted in Tango, it will be a day to feel the connection among people, cats, and the local community. Visitors can enjoy various cat-themed events while strolling through the town of Mineyama. Cat lovers as well as families and friends are welcome to visit while enjoying a walking tour of Mineyama. Pre-event programs and related events in October are also planned, with event details updated regularly on the project page. In case of cancellation or postponement due to inclement weather or social conditions, notifications will be made on the official website and Facebook page once decided.
