About this event
Held concurrently with the 43rd National Urban Greenery Fair in Kyoto Tamba, the Kyoto Tamba School Festival brings together students from the Kyoto Tamba area, featuring booths highlighting the unique characteristics of each school and dynamic student stage events. Unique collaborative projects between high schools and local businesses will also be held to entertain visitors. At the venue, performances will be given by various artists including violinist Naoko Matsumoto, and many educational institutions and companies—such as Kyoto University of Advanced Science, Meiji University of Integrative Medicine, and Kyoto College of Medical Science—will set up booths offering exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and sales. A stamp rally using stamps created by woodblock artist Yuta Yoshida and a cafe space where visitors can enjoy art and food will also be set up. Furthermore, there will be abundant opportunities to experience culture, art, and local industries, including the 'Korekara Exhibition' by the Kyotamba Town Social Welfare Council, an exhibition of award-winning works from the Kyoto Tamba Arts and Crafts Education Exhibition, the Nantan/Kyotamba Forestry Promotion Exhibition, an introduction to the Hiyoshi-cho Forest Owners' Cooperative's Wakaba Project, and Yagi University of Arts' 'Art Supplies Circulation Project: Megurido'. At the 'Kyoto Tamba Taste Street' where food trucks gather, visitors can savor local gourmet food. Sports events will also be held, such as an inter-school ground golf tournament and the 'Kyoto Tamba Sanpo de Walking' (application required). A costume contest is also seeking participants, where attendees can enjoy unique costumes themed around flowers, greenery, nature, and Kyoto Tamba.
