2026 Osaka University Co-Creation DAY @ EXPOCITY 'Knowledge Intersects, the Future Moves'

This event is themed around "co-creation," where Osaka University works together with companies and local communities to generate new value. It will be a special day where visitors can actually see, touch, and experience cutting-edge research. Packed with participatory programs enjoyable for both children and adults, visitors can feel the moving future. The venues are the 1F Hikari no Hiroba (Light Plaza), 3F EXPOMARKET, and 3F EXPOCITY Lab inside LaLaport EXPOCITY. Research and exhibitions across various fields will be held, including a wide range of programs such as a project by the Public Relations Division & CU + Dr. Wani titled "Next, You Win the Nobel Prize!", "Machikanewani is Waiting for You!" by the Museum of Osaka University, "A Topic at the Expo! Recreating Cultured Meat Exhibition at EXPOCITY" by the Graduate School of Engineering, and "Taste Actually Changes!" by the Graduate School of Dentistry. From the Graduate School of Medicine, there is also an intriguing exhibit: "Let's Observe Deep Inside Living Bodies with a Mechanical Pencil Lead-Sized Endoscope." Furthermore, there is a wealth of content to stimulate intellectual curiosity, including an infectious disease quiz, an exposition of languages and cultures, creating the future using digital technology, hands-on learning of how cameras work, the wonders of proteins, the future of medicine and food using 3D printers, exploring feelings toward objects, a VR theater experience, secrets of lunar sand, conversation experiences with AI robots, an introduction to joining and welding science, a paper-weaving workshop, secrets of color, as well as sales of "Handai Books"—the culmination of knowledge—and official goods by Osaka University Press and Osaka University Co-op.
