About this event
The free-admission event "KASHIWARA Toro Nagashi 2026" will be held in Kashiwara City. Visitors can enjoy the magical spectacle of lantern floating as "bamboo raft lanterns" crafted from Kashiwara-grown bamboo drift along the Nagase River carrying people's wishes. On the day, live background music and a food stall village will also appear, allowing everyone from children to adults to enjoy a cool evening retreat as a new summer tradition. Andon (paper lantern) making and drawing workshops will also be held across multiple dates. The lantern floating is scheduled to begin at 19:00. The venue is around Aqua Road Kashiwara and the Nagase River, and the launch site is the hydrophilic terrace in front of the bicycle parking lot at the East Exit of Kashiwara Station. The andon making workshop will take place at the gazebo in front of Torikizoku Kashiwara Branch. The headquarters will be located by the clock tower in front of FamilyMart Kashiwara Kiyoshu Branch, and food stalls will be set up along the Nagase River road from headquarters to the entrance/exit of the Yaohiko parking lot. Live music performances will be held on the hydrophilic terrace across from the food stalls, allowing visitors to listen from the opposite bank of the performers.
