Zokkon Matsuri

About this event

"Zokkon Matsuri" is a community-participation entertainment festival held in Toyono Town, Osaka Prefecture. Regional players, creators, businesses, and volunteers from both inside and outside the town gather from all over Japan to support each other and aim to create the region's future together in a town facing depopulation. People connected through the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai will not let their memories end during the expo period, but turn this into a place of local practice in a small region. Friends active in different regions from Hokkaido to Nagasaki will gather at a closed school in Toyono Town to host a cross-regional festival where visitors can participate beyond the role of mere spectators through music, art, and mini-games. Based on the concept "Adding a 'continuation' together to someone's 'passion,'" the festival aims to create new continuations to stories of people, activities, and regions by having participants bring their own passions and strengths. Rather than regional development starting from problems, it promotes building a community of shared destiny starting from fun. On the day, various programs will be held, including "Tsuzuki no Shogakusei Aruaru" (turning relatable elementary school experiences into mini-games), "Yoshikawa Shogakko no Hitorigoto" (an exhibition sharing memories of the former Yoshikawa Elementary School), "Neiro Cube" (instruments made using sounds collected in Toyono Town), "Tsuzuki no Ongakushitsu" (a live music performance created by everyone), "Toyono o Hakken! Zokkon Photo Card Game" (a card game using sceneries of Toyono Town), "Zokkon Yatai" (food stalls gathering delicious local foods), and "Zokkon Hyakkaten" (merchandise sales and workshops). On the final day, "Morning Party 'Asa kara Nonkuron'" will also be held, turning cleanup work into a party with coffee and breakfast.
