Held to celebrate a bountiful year, the "Izushi Danjiri Festival" is also known as the "Fighting Danjiri" (Kenka Danjiri), where approximately 17-meter-long danjiri floats fiercely crash into one another with tremendous power. Held around the ruins of Izushi Castle with prayers and gratitude for a rich harvest, the festival unfolds scenes resembling a valiant battle. The resounding clashes and burning heat of the colliding danjiri captivate visiting spectators.
