Moyoro Matsuri 2026, held in Abashiri City, is an event set at the Moyoro Shell Mound where visitors can experience ancient lifestyle. Packed with activities for both children and adults, it features fire-making and archery experiences, a pottery puzzle speed assembly contest, and shaker keychain making. On the day of the event, admission to the Moyoro Shell Mound Museum is free, with limited quantities of commemorative gifts distributed and mini soft-serve ice cream provided. Sales of Moyoro-related goods such as Moyoro-age, Moyoro sweets, and original merchandise, as well as a Moyoro-ya old-fashioned candy shop stall, are also scheduled. With mini-lectures titled "Where Did the Moyoro People Go?" and a special public viewing of "Earthen Houses of Northern Peoples," it will be a day to deeply engage with Moyoro culture.
