About this event
The Autumn Omiwa Festival, carrying a 2,000-year tradition at Omiwa Shrine, will be held over three days. On October 23, the Yoimiya Festival takes place, praying that the next day's Grand Festival will be successfully conducted. On October 24, the Grand Festival Ceremony is performed, during which four shrine maidens dedicate the sacred dance 'Umazake Miwa no Mai'. Gratitude for the autumn harvest is expressed along with prayers for the safety of shrine parishioners. On October 25, the Goen Festival is held to offer gratitude before the gods for the successful completion of the Autumn Omiwa Festival, concluding the three-day festival in grand fashion.
