About this event
As the Kanname-sai festival for all shrines on Mount Yoshino, this is a festival giving thanks for bountiful harvests. The futon-taiko floats from each district of Mount Yoshino—Kami-machi, Naka-machi, and Shimo-machi—parade through the streets and gather in front of Zaodo Hall. Following the ritual, large quantities of offerings are scattered, creating great excitement among locals and tourists alike.
