Gobo City Fireworks Festival 2026

About this event

Held on the Hidakagawa Riverbed in Gobo City, Wakayama Prefecture, the 'Gobo City Fireworks Festival 2026' is a summer tradition where about 3,000 fireworks light up the night sky. Visitors can enjoy both underwater fireworks and fireworks launched from the riverbed, and the climax will feature a joint performance of starmine fireworks, surface self-detonations, and 30 consecutive large shells. Spectators use the Hidakagawa river embankment as seating to enjoy the powerful fireworks amidst loud cheers. It is a major event bustling with many people, featuring food stalls as well. For safe viewing, a viewing area with traffic restrictions will be established, and guidance will be provided toward the Amada Bridge direction. The launch time is from 20:00 to 21:00.
