Gekidan Mingei Performance: 'With True Tenderness'

Staged as part of the Gekidan Mingei 2026 Nationwide Tour, 'With True Tenderness: Recitation and Music' is a collaborative stage performance of recitation and music created by actress Tomoe Hiiro and Marionette, an acoustic unit consisting of Takashi Yuasa on Portuguese guitar and Tsuyoshi Yoshida on mandolin. Highly acclaimed across the country, this performance allows audiences to fully enjoy a rich, poetic world. The program features readings and musical performances centering on the poetic world of Noriko Ibaragi, including 'When I Was Most Beautiful' and 'Names of Flowers.' In addition, a talk corner by Tomoe Hiiro will share memories of Jukichi Uno and Tomoko Naraoka, while the instrumental section with Portuguese guitar and mandolin will present songs such as 'Barco Negro' (Dark Barge) and 'Never on Sunday,' along with original pieces. Furthermore, recitations and music of traditional children's songs such as 'Shabondama' (Soap Bubbles), 'Akatombo' (Red Dragonfly), and 'Furusato' (Hometown) are also planned. Combining the unique sound of Marionette with the recitation of Tomoe Hiiro, this will be an emotional stage performance that resonates deeply in the hearts of listeners.
