2026 Autumn Wine Festival

Shimane Winery Co., Ltd., located in Taishacho Hishine, Izumo City, Shimane Prefecture, will hold the 2026 Autumn Wine Festival over two days on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026. The highlight of the event is the tasting and on-site sales of the Autumn Wine Festival Special Wine, allowing visitors to sample wines and purchase their favorites on the spot. Additionally, the new Original Sweet Premium Wine will go on sale with the tagline Elevate everyday sweetness to a touch of luxury. The shop will also serve yakitori, beer, and more alongside wine. Furthermore, under the title Bacchus Wine Festival, customers will receive an original grape drink if their shop receipt shows a winning mark (limited to the 2 days). As a BBQ special discount, the Selected Special Course (1 serving) will be discounted from 4,700 yen to 4,000 yen (tax included), and ordering this course comes with a complimentary bottle of grape drink. Nishihama sweet potato-topped soft-serve ice cream, created through a collaboration between Shimarin Kitchen and Izumo Commercial High School, will also debut. Stage events differ each day: October 17 features performances by Mind, Hira SON kids, Taisha High School Brass Band, Iwami Kagura, Kandogawa Taiko, and others; October 18 features Otochi Kagura Preservation Society, Yumenokatachi AKIRA Special Live, a special appearance by Kamehime, Yosakoi dance, and more. Other family-friendly attractions include displays of equipment by the Self-Defense Forces, Fire Department, and Police, a petting zoo by Izumo Agricultural High School, the 4th Kamiarizuki Medaka Festival featuring medaka scooping and sales, and a global beetle and stag beetle exhibition. Dining options include stalls selling taiyaki, yakisoba, takoyaki, onigiri, and baby castella, along with miscellaneous goods sales and a mini festival fair. Shuttle buses will operate between the venue and Shimane Museum of Ancient Izumo for convenient access. Event hours are 10:00 to 16:00 on both days.
