River Fest 2026 in Takatsu River

About this event

Set along the Takatsu River, known as Japan's cleanest river, this autumn event is organized by "Takaraba" (Association of People Who Love the Takatsu River), which promotes the river's charm through seasonal events, river recreation, the Takatsu River certification exam, and cooking experiences using river ingredients. On the day of the event, salt-grilled sweetfish (ayu) sales, pizza-making workshops, swamp shrimp scooping, fishing experiences, and craft workshops will be held. The organizers are also recruiting event staff to help with preparations, attendee guidance, and cleanup, aiming to turn not only participants but also supporters into fans of the Takatsu River. Supporters will also be treated to salt-grilled ayu and pizza.
