About this event
Hachimanyama Hachiman Shrine in Saka Town is said to have been enshrined in Saka Village since the first year of Bun'o (1260), and has long been revered as a guardian deity for bountiful harvests, family safety, and lasting martial fortune. Held annually on the second Saturday and Sunday of October, the Autumn Festival is a dynamic and magnificent event featuring lion dances (shishimai), chodai floats, towed boats (hikifune), and yatai floats dedicated amidst the sounds of flutes and drums. The eve festival (Yoimiya) will take place on the 10th (Sat) from 19:00, and the main festival will be held on the 11th (Sun) from 13:00. Admission and viewing are free.
