Hagi Bamboo Lantern Story
Japanese name:萩・竹灯路物語
📅 Fri, Oct 9, 2026 - Sun, Oct 11, 2026
About this event
This is an event where the candlelight from bamboo lanterns fantastically illuminates the historic townscape of Hagi. Around 2,000 bamboo lanterns are arranged around the castle town area, and their warm light enchants visitors. You can enjoy the enchanting glow of bamboo lanterns while strolling through the historic townscape gently lit by candlelight. In addition, original bamboo charcoal will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis to those who answer a survey, and the "Take-Toromichi Market" featuring food and drink menus made with local Hagi specialties, as well as the "Hagi Local Sake Tasting Campaign" offering local sake (GI Hagi) paired with snacks, will also be held. Visitors wearing kimono can participate in the local sake tasting for free.
