About this event
The "Hagi Grand Tea Ceremony," where visitors can experience Hagi's chanoyu (tea ceremony) culture passed down since the era of the Hagi Domain, will be held on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11, 2026. Three tea ceremony schools within the city will host tea gatherings across three venues, including the Hanae Teahouse inside the Hagi Castle Ruins Shizuki Park. You can enjoy matcha green tea while experiencing the historic townscape and heritage of Hagi, filled with the atmosphere of the Edo period. At Hagi Castle Ruins Shizuki Park, an ikebana flower arrangement exhibition and koto and shakuhachi flute musical performances will also be held, further enhancing the cultural ambiance. During the period, free jumbo taxis will operate in a loop between venues, providing convenient access. Presenting a tea seating ticket also grants discounts on admission fees to Hagi Meiringakusha and the Hagi Museum.
