56th World Children's Picture Exhibition - Yamaguchi Exhibition

The 56th World Children's Picture Exhibition Yamaguchi Prefecture Exhibition will be held from Friday, September 11, 2026, to Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Star-Pia Kudamatsu Exhibition Hall in Kudamatsu City, displaying a total of 268 children's paintings collected from Japan and 25 overseas countries. This exhibition is organized by the Biiku Bunka Kyokai (Foundation for Art Education), co-organized by the City Cultural Promotion Foundation, and managed by the executive committee. From a total of 72,862 submissions, the exhibition features 3 Special Awards, 22 Special Selections, and 208 Selected Works from within the prefecture, in addition to 4 Special Awards from outside the prefecture, 1 Overseas Special Award, and 30 Winning Works. Notably, Takuto Nakamura from Shion Kindergarten in Kudamatsu City won the Special Award / Biiku Bunka Kyokai Award for "Eki ni Itta yo" (I Went to the Station), and 11 Special Selections and 115 Selected Works were chosen from the three Shunan cities. On the opening day, September 11, an opening ceremony will be held starting at 9:00 AM in the foyer of the exhibition hall. Admission is free. Exhibition hours are from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM, ending at 3:00 PM on the final day.
