Tomakomai Civic Cultural Hall ART CUBES Opening Commemorative Project: Citizens' Ninth Symphony Concert

Held to commemorate the opening of Tomakomai Civic Cultural Hall ART CUBES, the "Citizens' Ninth Symphony Concert" is a special occasion where citizens take the lead in performing Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. The orchestral performance will be handled by the Tomakomai Civic Orchestra, the chorus by the Tomakomai Civic Choir, and Akihiro Kano will serve as conductor. Soloists include Yoko Hatakeyama (soprano), Kumi Matsuda (mezzo-soprano), Kazuki Furujo (tenor), and Hiroyuki Konno (baritone). The performance will feature Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" and Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125. Tickets are 1,000 yen (all seats unreserved, advance and same-day), which includes wheelchair spaces. Tickets will be on sale from Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 12:00 to Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 15:00.
