About this event

Upopoy Fest 2026, Now: Ainu, Okinawa, and Amami Connect, held at Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park / Symbolic Space for Ethnic Harmony), is an event where visitors can enjoy a wide variety of programs featuring the intersection of Ainu culture and the cultures of Okinawa and Amami. Experience culture with all five senses through performances of traditional Ainu dance and Ryukyu traditional performing arts, sales of Ainu and Okinawan dishes, and exhibitions of traditional Ainu and Ryukyuan crafts. In particular, on Sunday, September 20 and Monday (national holiday), September 21, a special stage will be set up in the park parking lot to host the first outdoor music festival. Special music performances will be held featuring a lineup of gorgeous guests including Marewrew and Oki, nincup, Chitose Hajime, and Rimi Natsukawa. This festival provides a valuable opportunity to experience firsthand how cultures of different regions connect and create new appeal.
