About this event
The Kagami Traditional Performing Arts Festival is held with the aim of raising interest among people from both inside and outside the prefecture in the folk performing arts of the Kagami area, passing down the valuable arts inherited in the region to the next generation, and supporting the preservation and transmission of local culture. At this festival, traditional performing arts will be showcased, including 'Umenoki Onabare' (portable shrine parade), 'Yoshihara Onabare' (portable shrine parade), 'Kakinomata Iza Dance' (designated intangible folk cultural property of Kochi City), and 'Otoshi Tachi Dance' (designated intangible folk cultural property of Kochi Prefecture). Each performance takes place at a different shrine, allowing visitors to experience the charm of community-rooted performing arts up close. Admission is free, and no advance reservation is required.
