Aiming to attract tourists from outside the prefecture during the autumn sightseeing season, 'Tosa no Hojosai: A food event where you can fully savor the deliciousness of Kochi's unique ingredients' will be held in Kochi City. At the venue, there will be numerous stalls featuring delicacies that can only be tasted in Kochi—such as salt-grilled Shimanto River sweetfish (ayu), inaka sushi, katsuo no tataki (seared bonito), and eggplant tataki—as well as eateries dedicated to Kochi-produced ingredients like Tosa Akaushi beef, garlic chives (nira), and yuzu. This event clearly highlights the character of Tosa's autumn harvest festival, aiming to promote Kochi ingredients and Kochi's food culture, as well as pass down culinary traditions. Furthermore, stage performances featuring Kochi's cultural 'Yosakoi Festival' and traditional performing arts/culture from across Kochi Prefecture (scheduled to include Japanese taiko drums, kagura, tachi-odori sword dance, etc.) will liven up the venue. It is a festival of food and culture that the whole family can enjoy.
