"Yosakoi Kochi Culture Festival 2026: Ikebana 'Past and Present'" is a cultural event themed around tradition and innovation in flower arrangement, held in Nankoku City, Kochi Prefecture. The event features live performances fused with music and lectures by world-renowned ikebana artists Kaho Osada and Oshun Tsukagoshi. As acclaimed masters who have captivated audiences on the world stage, they will deliver a special performance elevating flowers into "living art." In addition, ikebana artists gathered from across the nation and local artists active in Kochi will collaborate to exhibit over 50 ambitious works. The exhibition held in the exchange lobby, salon, and other areas allows visitors to experience the diverse world of ikebana, ranging from traditional techniques to contemporary sensibilities. Furthermore, free ikebana workshops for elementary school students will be held, giving children hands-on experience creating their own unique pieces. All necessary tools are provided, and children can take their creations home. This event is organized by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Kochi Prefecture, the Yosakoi Kochi Culture Festival 2026 Kochi Prefecture Executive Committee, Nankoku City, and the Japan Ikebana Association, offering an opportunity to enjoy exchanges and encounters through flower arrangement.
