20th Merger Anniversary Ikebana Art Exhibition

About this event

Commemorating the 20th anniversary of the municipal merger of Kami City and held as a cultural exchange event of the Yosakoi Kochi Cultural Festival 2026, the "Ikebana Art Exhibition" features a diverse display of flower arrangement works by the Japan Ikebana Art Association. Approximately 30 floral arrangements transcending school boundaries, created by association members and officers residing in Kochi Prefecture, add color to autumn in Kami City. Panel displays introducing the history of ikebana are also held, providing an opportunity to experience traditional culture. Furthermore, hands-on ikebana workshops are organized, with members of the Japan Ikebana Art Association invited as instructors. Participants can learn the basics of ikebana and enjoy traditional culture firsthand by arranging real flowers freely. As a special perk, participants will receive the floral materials used and an association textbook. Separate workshops are prepared for people with disabilities, the general public, and children (1st grade elementary to 3rd grade high school), making it enjoyable for all generations. Admission is free, but advance registration is required for the workshop.
