2026 Night Zoo "Noichi de Night"

The Kochi Prefectural Noichi Zoological Park will host "Noichi de Night," allowing visitors to observe special nighttime animal behaviors on summer and autumn evenings. In 2026, it will be held across three dates: Sunday, September 20; Saturday, October 3; and Sunday, October 11. It offers a rare opportunity to observe animals' nighttime ecology that cannot usually be seen. Spot guides by zookeepers and animal feeding sessions are scheduled; "Horse Carrot Time" starts at 18:15 (first 30 participants, children given priority). Each day features special programming: a True/False Animal Quiz tournament on Sunday, September 20; an "Animal Mask Making" workshop and stargazing session on Saturday, October 3; and "Noichi de Halloween Night" with hand painting and an animal costume contest on Sunday, October 11. Food trucks will be available on all three days, creating a lively evening atmosphere. Last admission is at 19:30, and the park closes at 20:30. Visitors arriving via the Gomen-Nahari Line receive an admission discount, and free shuttle buses run from Noichi Station and the Youth Center, so the use of public transportation is recommended. Heavy congestion is expected on the event days.
