About this event

The Muroto Cape Health Marathon is a running event held along the coastline designated as a UNESCO Global Geopark. Runners can enjoy spectacular scenery while feeling the dynamic movement of the Earth. Race categories include a half marathon, 10 km, and 5 km, each divided into age-specific divisions. Eligibility requires healthy individuals aged 18 or older who can complete the course (excluding high school students). The participation fee is 6,000 yen, and an original T-shirt (planned) is provided as a commemorative gift for participants. The opening ceremony starts at 9:00, with start times varying by category (Half Marathon at 10:00, 10 km at 10:30, 5 km at 10:40). The venue is 'Sea Station Toromu' (Umi-no-Eki Toromu) inside Muroto Cape New Port. On the day of the event, services such as serving tonjiru (pork miso soup) and free admission to the Dolphin Center (for marathon participants and elementary school children or younger only *planned) are also scheduled. The previous event had 865 participants. While runners need to be mindful of the wind, it is a race where you can fully enjoy magnificent nature.
