15th Nahari Town Children's Triathlon

The 15th Nahari Town Children's Triathlon held in Nahari Town, Aki District, Kochi Prefecture, is a competition where elementary school students challenge three events: swim, bike, and run. It will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Nahari Town Furusato Beach, and in case of stormy weather, it will be postponed to Sunday, October 25. The tournament aims to provide participants with an experience of the wonders of sports and the importance of having goals such as completing the triathlon. The participation fee is 3,550 yen including a bento lunch and tea, or 2,750 yen for athletes with food allergies. The application period is from September 1 to October 8, 2026. The swim is swimming, the bike is cycling, and the run is marathon running, with competitors divided into separate classes (grades 1-2, grades 3-4, and grades 5-6). Awards will be given to 1st through 3rd place for boys and girls in each class, and all finishers will receive a record certificate and finisher prize. Special placement prizes (Tobisho) are also prepared this year. Helmets are mandatory during the bike leg, while elbow and knee pads have become optional. As a heatstroke countermeasure, athletes may optionally start running while holding ice. Due to construction work, the bike course distance is shortened by 500 meters to 2.3 km. Event operations are managed by Sports Max, organized by Minato Mirai Kaigi, and co-hosted by Nahari Town, Kochi Prefecture.
