About this event

An exhibition by Yasuto Ide, a Japanese-style painter (Nihonga artist) from Kitakyushu City, titled "Yasuto Ide Exhibition: Resonant Prayers," will be held at the Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art. This exhibition introduces approximately 25 works ranging from his large-scale paintings depicting Balinese deities produced after becoming a full member (Dojin) of the Japan Art Institute to his most recent pieces. Ide studied in the laboratory of Ikuo Hirayama, known for his Silk Road series. After being captivated by Bali, Indonesia, during a visit in 1994, he visited the island almost every year for research, establishing a distinctive artistic style combining Balinese mythology with Eastern philosophy. This is an opportunity to savor Ide's artistic world, which presents a fantastic and mystical atmosphere. Additionally, works created in workshops conducted before and during the exhibition period will be on display, highlighting educational outreach activities.
