48th West Japan Ceramics Festa

About this event

The 48th West Japan Ceramics Festa will be held from Friday, September 18 to Wednesday (national holiday), September 23, 2026, at Kitakyushu Messe / West Japan General Exhibition Center (Medium Exhibition Hall). Pottery kilns from 29 prefectures nationwide will exhibit directly, showcasing and selling ceramics including new autumn creations. Visitors can purchase original masterpieces directly from the artisans. The venue will also host the Takumi Craftsman Exhibition, showcasing and selling traditional crafts from around Japan, as well as the West Japan Ceramic Artists Exhibition featuring famous ceramic artists. In 'Encounter of Flowers and Vessels' by 14 schools of the Kitakyushu Ikebana Association, live flower arrangement demonstrations using vases from exhibiting kilns will be held. Furthermore, hands-on pottery workshops such as potter's wheel throwing, painting, and marbled pottery crafting, as well as a soba noodle making workshop, will be available for visitors to experience craft-making firsthand. During the period, the Roll Cake Cafe featuring popular roll cake shops from inside and outside the prefecture and a kitchen car food truck market serving global gourmet cuisine will be held concurrently, offering plenty of culinary delights. Additionally, a special sponsored commemorative lucky draw lottery will be held for visitors.
