The Chikushino City Festival 'Futsukaichi Onsen and Mount Tenpai Moon Viewing' with Iki-Iki Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture Festa will be held. This historic festival has been held every year on the night of the full harvest moon to comfort the spirit of Lord Sugawara no Michizane, commemorating the legend where in Shotai 4 (901) he climbed Mount Tenpai for 100 consecutive days to proclaim his innocence and pray for the peace of the Emperor and the nation. With a tradition dating back to Taisho 13 (1924), welcoming bonfires are lit at the grounds of Buzoji Temple, Tenpai Park, and the summit of Mount Tenpai. Sacred fire delivered from Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is lit at Tenpai Park, and visitors can enjoy stage events, street stalls, and fireworks (400 shots) at the venue. Event details are currently being planned and will be updated as they are decided. Stage participants and stall vendors are also being recruited.
