19th Beach Rugby in Munakata - Calling for Participating Teams!

About this event

The annual event that heats up the summer in Munakata, the "19th Beach Rugby in Munakata", will be held again this year on the left bank of the Tsurikawa River mouth in Munakata City. Celebrating its 19th edition this year, the tournament attracts many rugby enthusiasts from various regions and has become a summer tradition in the rugby town of Munakata. Set against the backdrop of the blue sea and white sandy beach, heated matches and cross-generational exchanges take place, creating great excitement at the venue every year. It is a fantastic opportunity to fully experience the unique openness and passion of the beach. Participation is open to elementary school students and older, with each team consisting of 5 to 10 members. The participation fee is 20,000 yen per team, but teams consisting only of high school students are 8,000 yen, and teams consisting only of junior high school students or younger are free. Applications open on Monday, June 1, with a deadline of Tuesday, June 30, 2026 (Reiwa 8). Since registration is limited to the first 30 teams on a first-come, first-served basis, early application is recommended.
