About this event
Held over two days on Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23, 2026, around the Hinosato Exit of Togo Station, the "49th Hinosato Festival" is a major event where local residents come together to enjoy themselves. The daytime section takes place beneath the UR high-rise buildings, bustling with stalls from local shops in addition to stage performances such as brass band music and dance. In particular, on the 23rd, events such as a ramune soda chugging contest and a lottery drawing are held, packed with programs enjoyable for both adults and children. The evening section enhances awareness of local disaster prevention with multi-generational participatory programs by the volunteer fire corps and the Disaster Prevention Specialist Association on the main street (22nd), and ladder truck training by the Munakata Fire Department (23rd). In addition, diverse entertainment will unfold, including dance and cheerleading at the main street intersection (23rd) and a live band performance indoors next to the intersection (23rd, 17:15–20:00). The nighttime section features a mass community dance in front of the station starting at 19:00 on both the 22nd and 23rd, marking the festival's finale. Furthermore, visitors can enjoy test riding and taking photos in an ambulance, offering a precious opportunity. Dance practice sessions are also held ahead of the festival, raising enthusiasm across the entire community. Since there is no parking available for general visitors around the venue, using public transportation or arriving on foot is recommended.
