About this event
The Taradake Shrine Autumn Festival is a traditional festival held in gratitude for an abundant harvest. As highlights of the festival, furyu dances and dances imitating feudal lord (daimyo) processions are dedicated. These dances strongly reflect the local history and culture, captivating viewers. Taradake Shrine is a shrine that merged three shrines—Taradake Shrine (Mt. Tara), Kawakami Shrine, and Araho Shrine—in 1971 (Showa 46), enshrining Ninigi no Mikoto, Isotakeru no Mikoto, Oyamatsumi no Kami, and Toyotama-hime no Mikoto (Otohime-sama). Held every year in September, this autumn festival serves as a valuable opportunity not only for local residents but also for visitors to experience rich nature and traditional culture.
