About this event
The Taradake Shrine Autumn Festival is a traditional festival held in gratitude for bountiful harvests. A portable shrine (mikoshi) procession enters Taradake Shrine to offer thanks for rich harvests. Deeply reflecting the local history and culture, this festival offers visitors a valuable opportunity to experience rich nature and traditional culture. Taradake Shrine is a shrine where three shrines—Taradake Shrine (Mt. Tara), Kawakami Shrine, and Araho Shrine—were merged in 1971 (Showa 46), enshrining Ninigi-no-Mikoto, Isotakeru-no-Mikoto, Oyamatsumi-no-Kami, and Toyotama-hime-no-Mikoto (Otohime-sama). Held every September, this autumn festival is an important event for both local residents and visitors to give thanks for the blessings of the year and deepen community bonds.
