Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Sasebo District Autumn Festa 2026

For two days on Saturday, September 26, and Sunday, September 27, 2026, the "Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Sasebo District Autumn Festa 2026" will be held at Shin-Minato Wharf, Miura Wharf, and Kurashima Wharf in Sasebo City, Nagasaki Prefecture. At this event, a total of 8 vessels will be open to the public, including destroyers, missile boats, an underwater demolition support vessel, a multi-purpose support ship, minesweepers, US Navy vessels, and a Japan Coast Guard patrol vessel. Visitors will have a rare opportunity to view these vessels up close. In addition, during bay cruises, you can board tugboats and other vessels to enjoy the scenic view of Sasebo Port. At the venue, equipment and vehicle exhibitions from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, police, and fire department will also be held, allowing you to see vehicles and gear not normally on public display. Furthermore, a variety of events are planned, including brass band performances, a gourmet street with kitchen cars, merchandise sales, PR booths, and a stamp rally, making it enjoyable for everyone from adults to children. On Saturday, September 26, the Sasebo City Comprehensive Disaster Prevention Drill will also be conducted, featuring joint rescue and relief drills by related organizations as well as a disaster prevention experience corner. Admission is free, and no advance application is required.
