[2026] Shimabara Onsen Gamadas Fireworks Festival

About this event

This is the largest fireworks festival on the Shimabara Peninsula, set against the backdrop of Shimabara Outer Port. Centered around launch fireworks, various displays such as No. 15 shells (1.5 shaku), multi-colored thousand-ring chrysanthemums, and wide starmine fireworks sequentially light up Shimabara's night sky. Around 80 food stalls line the venue area, allowing visitors to enjoy not only the fireworks but also street food and Shimabara sightseeing. In particular, the 1.5 shaku shell launched during the climax is a major highlight, drawing cheers from the audience as powerful fireworks spread across the night sky. Located near the sea, the venue offers a chance to enjoy the harbor atmosphere together with the fireworks in the night sky. Approximately 2,000 fireworks are scheduled to be launched, making it a beloved event that concludes the summer in Shimabara.
