About this event
Held to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the Nankan Town Community Exchange Center <ukara>, "ukara 1st Anniversary! Nankan Footpath" is an event where you can fully enjoy local history and nature. A footpath refers to a trail where you can walk while enjoying the preserved, authentic local scenery. In this event, participants will walk the "Buzen Kaido", a historic road still remaining in the barrier town of Nankan. Following the route once traveled by many feudal lords (daimyo), you will walk a course of about 5.2 km while feeling the traces of history. The outward trip is on foot, and the return trip is by bus. After the event, you can relax at the "Nankan Town Library <Konomi ch-i>" and "Cafe Kitsune-no-Botan". The participation fee includes lunch, an exchange voucher for Cafe Kitsune-no-Botan, snacks, guide fees, and a special "Ishii Family Hospitality Bento" served in a place associated with poet Hakushu Kitahara. This special bento incorporating autumn ingredients from Nankan is one of the exclusive highlights of this event. Anyone who can walk the required distance is welcome to join, with children of elementary school age or younger requiring an adult guardian. Wearing comfortable clothes and well-broken-in shoes is recommended.
