About this event
Minamiaso Night Market will be held aiming to create a new "relaxing gathering place" in Minamiaso born from the voices of local children. Rather than targeting tourists, this is a heartwarming event where villagers can casually drop by as an extension of their daily lives. It is packed with delicious gourmet food, music, and activities that will bring smiles to children. The venue, Roadside Station Asobo no Sato Kugino (Michi-no-Eki Asobo no Sato Kugino), also serves as an evacuation and support base in times of disaster, and this event is held as a charity supporting recovery from the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake (Reiwa 8th Year Earthquake). All relief donations placed in the donation boxes set up inside the venue will be fully donated toward recovery efforts in the disaster-affected areas. Eco-friendly initiatives are also implemented, such as receiving drink discounts and extra servings by bringing your own reusable cup. The 1st edition, organized as a "Summer Charity Night Market" to brighten the end of summer, features food truck and stall sales, a mini summer festival, a quiz rally, acoustic live stages, a group toast with reusable cups, and a giant panel rock-paper-scissors tournament.
